Party At School and the first of my "Did You Know?" series!

Sarah celebrated her upcoming birthday at school today!!   Isn't she just the sweetest thing?
Can you tell this Meme just loves her??  Make your wish... Meme wants all your dreams to come true! * (UPDATE 7:14 p.m.) Sarah just informed me, as she looked at the above picture, what she wished for: "That me and Molly would always be friends and sisters!"

Hey Sarah, Molly and Cayden... Did You Know?...

I wanted to tell you a story about how Meme met Papa.  Meme was 18 years old and I was invited to the Lesjak cottage, at Holliday Lakes, with my friend Sally.  Sally was so excited for me to meet a friend of her boyfriend's, who name was Dave.  Guess what?  It was Papa!  I knew I liked him right away because he was so tall and so very cute!  Papa was so nice to me that day and we had a really fun time going on his boat to water ski and we played lots of volleyball.  We had a big campfire too!  Papa took my phone number and called me again in a few days to go out on a date.  We had a lot of fun together whenever we went out and soon enough ~ I knew I was in LOVE!  How will you know... (the song from Enchanted) ~ he loves you? ~ You just know!  We met on September 10, 1977.  We got engaged on October 3, 1978.  We got married on October 13, 1979.  We added the two dates together and got 13!  October 13th was also GG's and Great Grandpa's wedding day!  We got married on their 28th wedding anniversary and guess what, Cayden?  Your Mommy and Daddy got married on October 13th too~ on Meme and Papa's 28th wedding anniversary... that is some kind of magic, don't you think?  Meme was 21 and Papa was 22 years old.  Meme and Papa are about to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary!  That is a BIG DEAL.  When you get married, its so important to remember that it is a FOREVER COMMITMENT to each other.  I am hoping for many more years with Papa because I still love him so, so, so, much!
Some pictures to share with you, my little gems...
This is Uncle Mike giving a wedding toast to Meme & Papa.  Aunt Patty is next to Papa!

Tuesday Treats!

Today, this boy's pediatrician, told this boy's mama, that she could start feeding him more table foods ~  and if she does, she will see that this boy will lose the orange tint that he has on his cute little nose!!

Maybe, just maybe... this boy's mama likes this boy's nose just the way it is!!!

and... Meme does too!

Making Plans...

Dave was away for the weekend and I spent much of it with Bridget and Cayden!  Bridget worked Thursday night and spent the morning sleeping here while Cayden and I played!  He is really enjoying the sit and spin now!

So fun ~ just look at his face~ and check out those adorable little feet!  Looking good! He has come along way from his new born feet!
Casting, bracing, cutting tendons, breaking.... his feet have endured much but... He is doing so great!  He now stands and walks around furniture and is getting very daring about it all!  Check out some of his other moves here!  He still wears his special shoes and bar brace at night till he is two and then the doctor will see if more surgery is needed or if he will just continue to wear the bar with shoes.  Isn't it amazing to see the change?

We then shopped on Friday, Bridget had an agenda, she was on a mission.  Friday night, I kept Cayden for a sleep over while his mommy and daddy went to the Indians game with friends.  Cayden makes for a boring sleepover guest as he goes to bed for the night by 7.  I watched movies the rest of the night, which I love to do!

Saturday when Bridget came over we decided to go to the farmer market at Crocker Park.
It was fabulous~ It was our first time there and I will be sure to go back.  A man playing the guitar entertained Cayden, there were booths just filled with fresh produce and the potted plants were so beautiful and the biggest I have ever seen.  People so friendly and helpful too! Fruit so delicious!  Yum.

Tegan called ... we are trying to plan a trip.  He misses us and we miss him.  He needs to see his little nieces and nephew as well as his sisters and brother.  He is still loving his job at West Star Aviation and I am sure he is looking forward to the snow flying so he can snowboard.  Kelley got a new haircut and looks adorable!  They both are saving up vacation time for their honeymoon, so we can't get them home to Ohio.  Don't worry Tegan... I am working on some plans for some trips.  We may all have to come separately, but that might be more fun for you guys anyway!!   And, way less crowded at your house!!!  I love you guys so much and I miss you too!

Here's to a good week everyone!!

You Capture~ Something I have never photographed!

Somethings I have never photographed before....

The moon by the campfire light ~ spooky!

A picture of a picture.  Who does that??  I love this shot of my daughter and her brand new husband taken right after the ceremony by a friend.  I think it is magazine worthy!  The bridesmaids all kicked off their shoes and the bride and groom are oblivious to anything or anyone in the room!

This was a challenge for me since I take pictures of EVERYTHING, ALL DAY LONG!  To see more of newly discovered, never before photographed things, visit here.  Thanks to Beth at I should be folding laundry for the fun themes!

Next time you can bring me flowers...

A few weeks ago, Sarah signed up to take ballet at the Tracy Vedda School of Dance.  It is the very school her Mommy and Aunt Doodie took classes.  I was so excited that I got out the old VHS tapes of past recitals.  Sarah watched Mommy and Aunt Doodie dance ... she loves the little number with the high schools boys called "Dream Date".  The boys were about 16 and the girls about 9 yrs old. Missy Murtaugh and Bridget danced in that one and Sarah thought it was so cool.  Then Miss Tracy came one stage with her daughter, who at the time was about 2 years old.  Miss Tracy tried to get her to dance but it was a no go!! Her brother came out at the end, he was about 6, and he gave her flowers.

Fast Forward to yesterday...

Here's what went down in the car on the way to ballet...

Sarah:" I can't wait to see which boy I get."

Sarah's Mommy: What??

After Class on the way home...

Sarah:" Maybe next time you can get me flowers,  ok Mom?"

Sarah's Mommy:  What??

I called Beckie last night to ask about ballet and she tells me these things.  We are thinking that it is so weird~~ THEN I remember the videos and we have a good laugh.!  The girl doesn't miss a trick.  We explained that you get flowers at the recitals~ really big shows~ and she will surely get plenty!!

Labor Day Weekend- Wedding & Big Chill!

This weekend was full of fun activities. We started off with Katie's wedding! She was a beautiful bride! I have no pictures... WHAT- because the girl in the pew behind me kept sticking her head into all my shots. :-( Hate when that happens! I did get a shot of my buddy Danny pulling his sister, Emily in the wagon. Danny might have thought it was a race... he just took off down the aisle with Ryan and his sister Alli trailing behind!! How freaking cute is this kid?

Emily was adorable too, in her dress that Yaya gussied up! Katie's colors were brown and teal, so Deb added some teal trim to this little white eyelet dress! It also was around the bottom of the dress. Isn't she sweet?

On Sunday morning, Kathy and Gary picked us up early to head back to PA for the annual BIG CHILL weekend. We do this every year at Rick and Roxi's camp. The Wangs, Lesjaks, Wegryns and Murtaughs. We hike...
We make crafts...
Just look how creative our guys can be... they jump right in and get to work crafting something beautiful. It is so fun to see them working so seriously on a craft!

This year we made picture frames! Other years we made log cabins from sticks, candle rock formations, small herb gardens, and more! Here are our creations for BIG CHILL 2009~
It is a fun filled weekend, packed with lots of laughter, friends, and NO MAKE UP! Here is one picture that might fill the frame,
Or, it might be this one...
We had a great time!!
Boy, oh boy, Miss Diana... looks like I need to hike A LOT MORE OFTEN!

A Sweet Homecoming!

Beckie left this afternoon for Virginia Beach to run a marathon.  Donny finished his New York job today and drove home ~ we did not tell the girls, we wanted to surprise them!  It was so special to witness this homecoming.  Of course, I had my camera ready on the sofa table behind me and the front door unlocked.  Donny knocked and walked right in and both girls looked up and just said "Hi Daddy"   Then they SCREAMED....: D~A~D~D~Y!

Sarah got very emotional, while Molly just pinched Daddy's ear to be sure he was really real!  It was priceless!

I wanted to share it with you!

                            Welcome Home Donny!
