A "MODEL" STUDENT!

Sarah and her Mommy went shopping for school clothes! Sarah starts Kindergarten very, very soon~ I can hardly believe it! She wanted to have a fashion show when they got back to my house to pick up Molly, who stayed with me while they shopped. She could not wait for me to see her new outfits! You know me... I just had to grab my camera...

This is what I got...

She will be a model student! So very exciting! How about all those poses? This child is so her mother!! Beckie would always "strike a pose" for the camera too!

Molly... Well, not to be out done, this girl came out while Sarah changed and she can "vogue" just as well as her sister...

A Letter To Tegan!

Dear Uncle Tegan,

Hi! I am writing you today to let you know that I have been taking good care of something for you!

Yeah... that's right~ Big Green. I really like this truck... A LOT! In fact, I have been driving it around the neighborhood quite a bit.

I am always sure to wear my seatbelt!
I am so good at driving and honking the horn!! Papa is so proud of me!
It is not easy to climb up into this big old truck, but I can do it!
Papa taught me to take good care of this truck. I shine it up really good...
See, I can even see myself!
It's hard work.
But I have been doing it...
and I think I have been doing a great job!
Then something CRAZY happened.

Papa said, "Cayden, this is Uncle Tegan's truck. We need to ship it off to him in Colorado."

WHAT?

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

NO WAY!

Then Papa told me how you worked so hard to restore this old truck when you were 17 years old. He said you took this old 1959 Chevy Apache, that was black and you rebuilt every little detail. You did it yourself with Papa assisting you! You won lots of awards on this truck. You really loved driving this truck around town. You loved to answer the question "Hey, your dad let's you drive that truck?" with this answer..."IT'S MINE"! You would go to car shows on Sundays and everyone knew you... the dj would always holler... here comes Tegan folks... he restored this truck himself! People always voted for your truck to win! You even redid the interior, on your very own machine and put the CLASS OF 59 right on the seat. That is really cool! I guess I can understand why you miss it so much there in Colorado.

I guess I can let it go.

It won't be easy, but I know I will see lots of pictures of you, Aunt Kelley and my cousin Layla riding around in it!

So, OK, you can have it back.

Just remember that I took good care of it for you and when I visit you on Grand Junction, you will probably let me drive it with you ... RIGHT? I love you Uncle Tegan. Watch for your truck... soon it will be on it's way!!

Hey... people know me too!

Not Your Typical Wednesday!

I had all three of my gems here today! Bridget was working, Beckie went to clean out her classroom and on a job interview ... so everyone came to "Meme's House"!

It's hard to get a shot of all three of these darlings...
I often get this kind of silly-ness out of them!

After lunch and naps... we headed outside to play. Cyle came by right about then to pick up Cayden, so he missed out on the little party we ended up having together! Sarah enjoyed the new pool toy...
She would score points for each hole she could jump into!
Molly enjoyed painting poolside!
Sarah had Molly join her for a little ride around the pool!
Molly looks comfy, doesn't she?

Papa came home and after dinner, Sarah and Molly watched a movie with him!

Then they took a walk outside and next thing I knew Sarah came in and said...

"Get ready Meme and Mom, we are having a campfire. Yep, you heard me. Papa said so."
We had s'mores of course!
Sarah said, "How about we yell CAMPFIRE when you take our picture?"
Did I mention we had tacos for dinner.. ice cream for dessert... some ice tea... then the chocolate, crackers and marshmallows?

Then we sent them home with their Mommy!

Oh the joys of being a grandparent!

Birthday Wishes...

Kelley was 22 on August 1st~

Tegan was 23 on August 3rd~

I miss them both every day. I WISH I could be in Colorado to celebrate their birthdays with them!

Splash Zone~

Beckie found a fun, fun place to splash and play near her new home! It's called Splash Zone. Beckie took the girls one day last week and Sarah could not wait to show me and Aunt Doodie this great place to play!
Molly loves it too! She practiced and practiced putting her head under the water. Every now and then she would panic and say she didn't want to "SLIP"!! I kept telling her all she would have to do is STAND UP!! See...

Silly goose ... the water came to her waist!

She did great then... she swam under water back and forth between Beckie and I! It was really so fun for her!

Cayden was in HEAVEN! He loves to walk on his own in water.

He tried swimming too!
and he LOVED it!
Bridget is looking so beautiful as she nears her due date with Mya... 4 weeks away! Aunt BB loves to play with Cayden in the water!
Cayden loved walking under the fountains too!
Oh... and the slides...
So much fun!
Splash.... Buckets of water all on your head!
It's the kind of place where you are only there about 2 hours and EVERYONE is worn out and ready for a long nap!
