Art Class... 101!

Sarah Rose planned an Art Class for her friends!
She had her Mom post on Facebook...
Ok FB friends with kids...My Sarah has spent the last three days planning an art class for kids. She wrote a sign up sheet and wants to stand at the end of the driveway to ask people to sign up. She has a project planned out and materials all ready. She wants to charge $1.00 for each person that comes. If you are at all interested in taking a fun art class from an enthusiastic 6 year old, please let me know and I'll sign you up! The class will be here, at our house, next Thursday, July 19 at 3:00. She is really excited about it and I want to see her succeed with a fun plan. Let me know if your child can make it! Thanks in advance :)

A few days later this post went up...

Wow! What an amazing response to Sarah's art class! If you have posted and I "liked" your post, we have you in our count. As of now we are at 14 people so we are going to cap it there. We will have to schedule another class for others who would like to come. Sarah is beyond excited! Thank you all :)

Sarah started off her "class" by showing her project!
A cute little pompom puppy!

Kids took their seats and got busy tracing and
cutting out the puppy from the patterns Sarah had drawn
and cut out for them ahead of time!

Brianna, in the white bow, is listening carefully to all instructions!

Molly was concentrating too~ and excited to use
the colorful pompoms!
Sarah told her friends how to zigzag the sides of their puppies
to make it look like fur!
She did a great job!
Sarah even had her very own art teacher come over to
do the project too!  Mrs Merritt, was excited she said, to see what
idea Sarah designed!  She even said that next year, if she ever needs a sub~
she was calling Sarah!

A future teacher?
NOPE~ this little girl says she is going to be an

Canada 2012

On Wednesday, July 18th, Cayden and his Mommy woke up
early to be ready in the lobby for the Shriners van to pick us
up for his 7:30 am appt!
All smiles as we wait~
Smiles and some butterflies in his tummy.
Once checked in, Cayden heads for the fish tank...
He loves to count the big fish!
Room 8
Cayden is reminded of the three things he was going
to remember for his hospital visit.
1. Be polite
2. Be a good listener
AND
3. BE BRAVE!
He knew room 8 was the place to be BRAVE.
It was time for blood draws
and he was very BRAVE!
He was a GOOD LISTENER when the tech did his
bone density test and spine xrays.  He did not move a bit!

He was POLITE to everyone he met~
he said "hi" to all the "friends"
and answered all the questions the Dr. had for him!

When the Dr. showed Cayden his xray the conversation went like this....
Cayden: Oh that's my skeleton!
Dr.: Oh you think so, do you?
Cayden: Well, actually, it's my spine!
Dr.,laughs:  Yes it is...smart little guy!

Dr. Frances Glorieux examined Cayden.

Cayden had grown 7.7 centimeters~ low end of normal for height
but he is on the high end for weight!

His bone density went up 3%~ we are happy
with any increase!  Cayden has been fracture free for since last years appt!

He is a cautious little guy and knows his limits~
Dr. Glorieux thought we might not see another fracture till pre-puberty,
when a "boy will be a boy",  because he is so smart!

Cayden was supposed to be scheduled to see the dentist there
but somehow it was overlooked in the notes.  It will be scheduled for
next June since he is also being seen by a dentist at home.  Dr. Glorieux
felt his Dentinogenesis imperfecta is actually worse then his OI's type typically would be,
and wants to monitor it.

Cayden then had to do a walking test, which proved to be
the end of his patience since he fell while running to the start line.
Falls scare him and once he was crying we realized he was DONE.

Good byes were said~
We went back to the hotel, packed up and hit the road for home.
Bri's little guy was tired!

He was so good in the car and he was excited when we reached
our stop for the night in Buffalo NY!
"Yes Meme, they have a pool"
CHECK!

A bit more driving down I-90 on Thursday am finds us at
Papa's office!  Cayden is excited to see Papa!
He plans to "sneak right up on him"
shhh...
Peek a boo at Papa's fish tank!
Cayden's turn!
It was Cayden's Birthday ya know!
4
Cayden does not have to go back to Shriners till next year
or next fracture.  Should he fracture without real force, the Dr. would
start infusion treatments.  So Cayden... keep up the good work!!
You sure were
Polite
A Good Listener
and
so
so
Brave!

Somebody is 4 years old today!

Cayden is 4 years old!

Cayden is happy to see his Papa on his birthday!
It was our first stop on the way home from Shriners!

Papa loves you!

"Take a picture, and hold your place in time...
as the days go by, the days go by, the days go by"*

I love you Townsend Cayden!

The days are going by too fast~
you are growing up to be so big.

Happy Birthday~

Montreal ~

On the road...
Cayden works in alphabet workbook Mommy gave him~

He loves printing his letters!

Some "stinky" feet~
Our Cayden is really flexible~

We check into the "show n tell" a.k.a. hotel!
Cayden cracks us up with how he says some things!
On the road we saw tall buildings and ask him what they
were and he said "Show n Tell".
We had no clue what he was talking about!
Then at the hotel, he said
"I love doing races at the show tell"!
Ha~ We got it now.
Hotel ~ Show n Tell!

Cayden, his Buddy and Bo Bo!

We got up at 6:30 and hit the road by 7:30.

At the Canadian border, we were made to go inside
so they could call Cyle, the other parent, to be sure
we were not kidnapping this cute boy out of the states!
Note to self:  Have letter signed by other parent if one is missing!!
We all just want to protect this kid!

Once in Montreal, we check into the La Tour Belvedere.
I cannot believe this boy will be four on Thursday!
He is never too big to tickle!

We walked across the street to the movie theater and we
saw ICE AGE!
Cayden had such big belly laughs all through the movie~
so much so that we all had laughs on Cayden too!

Ready for bed now!
Just a little "homework" he says!

Good night to Daddy, Mya and my Grandma B!
I miss you!

Slippery Fish...

Cayden is becoming quite the swimmer!
His Mommy and Daddy got him a swimming pool.
It is a great activity for someone with OI~
and he loves it!

I am off to Montreal tomorrow with Bri and Cayden.
It is time for his yearly tests at Shriners Hospital, where
he will see Dr. Rauch and lots of other little friends!
Everyone there is so kind and sweet~
Cyle is so busy roofing with all the recent storms, that  he and Bri
decided to ask me to go in his place.  I am sure it will be
hard for him to stay back as Cayden is his prized
possession.  I am quite the long distance driver so he
can be assured they will be in good hands... mine!

This will be Cayden's third visit to Shriners in Montreal~
We have much good news to share with the Dr and the
nurses...
Cayden has been
"FRACTURE FREE"
His Mommy and Daddy take the best care of him!
Cayden is one smart cookie and he knows
exactly what he can and can't do!

We will, however, probably still do this...
