My Heart Belongs To David!
I have a wonderful husband. Anyone who knows me, knows I love Fendi. It's my signature fragance, has been for 26 years. I wear it every day. I found out a couple of months ago that Fendi stopped making Fendi Donna. I searched high and low. I hunted, really. I tried to find that one last bottle forgotten on a shelf. No such luck. I would hear "Sorry, someone came in and bought my last 4 yesterday". I have really been bothered by this since I wouldn't know where to begin to try to find something remotely close. I have about an inch and a half left in 2 separate bottles.
Until yesterday.
When a package arrived for Dave.
I was tempted to open it since he never really orders anything.
I didn't.
I waited till he got home and said "Look, you got a package... OPEN IT!!"
And he did. Then he slid it over to me. And I looked inside.
Who knew he was an Ebay shopper. (I tried the same tactics a few months ago with no luck)
SCORE!!!
This should hold me over until they start producing it again and charging way more a bottle just like Channel did with that No.5!
Dave's mom, who always called him DAVID, bought me this little pin the first year we were married. She found it at a store and thought I might agree!
Gertie was one smart lady!! My Heart Does Indeed Belong To David! Thanks honey!!

Party on St Patty's Day!
St Patrick's Day started off rough for this little guy. He sure was looking good wearing the green though, wasn't he?
Still not too happy about things ...
But then Aunt Beckie came over with cards made by her first grade class... lots of cards with pictures of dinosaurs and trains... the dinosaur train too! Beckie even had her nails painted by one of her students on this festive day!!
Don came with Sarah and Molly and fun really began. Soon Cayden said "down" and just like that he was..
down. He started off slow
but soon got into the swing of things. He is working hard to learn to blow into his train whistle!
By the time they got ready to go home, Cayden was crawling around again being his old silly self again!
He just loves the book MOO BAA LA LA LA ...
who doesn't?

Prayer Request....
Our little Cayden has another fracture in his tibia.
Yesterday.
A fall.
A mothers torment. A mothers tears. It was a hard day on Bridget. A hard day on Cyle. And an even rougher night, waiting till morning to be casted, for all of them. But look at this smile...

A little boy with big dreams. Thank you Roxi for the adorable shirt!!
Dr B. is recommending Bridget and Cyle to Shriners Hospital in Montreal, Canada. He calls Montreal, the brittle bone capital, since so many doctors who specialize in the disease are there. The sooner the better.
Dr. B. says Cayden's bone density is not good now and with fractures and immobilizing the leg, it will only get worse. He wants to do a skin biopsy as well before they go the Canada. A decision needs to be made as to if he should be put under or have it done locally. Another tough decision for his mom and dad. Although they have already had a negative test result from a geneticist, Dr. B. feels there is need to redo testing. Blood work was drawn March 3rd, for EDS as well. He feels the Shriner Hospital will be able to test for all spectrums of the disease.
Please say a prayer for this little grandson of mine. He is so very precious, he is so very loved, and he means the world to his parents, meme, papa, grandma Brenda and grandpa Curt! Everyone who knows him... LOVES HIM!
Did I mention I love Dr. B. Cleveland Clinics very own Dr. Tracy Ballock, such a gentle man. Pediatric Orthopedic Doctor. From day one...
to now, Dr. Ballock has shown such care and concern for my baby girl Bridget. From his pat on her back at office visits, telling her she is doing great with Cayden, right to his taking time to calm her on the phone yesterday, reassuring her, telling her it will be ok. They, we, CAYDEN, is so lucky to be in such good hands! The luck of the IRISH! Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Did someone say, REMODEL?

I left Dave in Florida. I told you that he had his buddies down for a week of golf. Some left, a few others came for another week of fun. Dave mentioned how we are getting set to remodel the Florida house. He mentioned taking down a wall. Mentioned it. The boys heard the call. No better time than the present, they said.
Gary has his hand at demolition -- Rick supervises!

Mike gets involved too! Gary and Rick behind the wall!

Where's Dave... you might ask? Taking pictures, but rest assured, he had his hand in this work as well!
And NOW YOU DON'T!!

The wall down.... This will really open up the floor plan!! Carpet is going.... Tile is coming, all throughout, and new cabinets and granite counter tops!
This is a friends' house down the street. We loved her floor plan, which is exactly ours, minis the wall dividing the kitchen area. We loved how it opened everything up!
It will look so great with new wood cabinets, installed by none other than Bob, Dave and Rick. Carole, Roxi and I have been blessed to be married to Jack Of All Trades, since our husbands can do it all!! They are plumbers, electricians,(Dave already re-wired the wires that ran down this wall), and cabinet makers and installers. Never mind their day jobs... Retired Engineer, Screw-Fastener Business Owner and a Financial Investment Firm Owner. How lucky are we?? Watch for more updates on this exciting project!!

Seriously???
Really now, could he be any cuter? I took Cayden to Golden Shears, a real man's barber shop. He has had two haircuts in his life. Both at a sissy place called Snip-its. Cayden cried and cried...remember these pictures?
Traumatic to say the least! Well, not today. Today, Cayden was just the best little man. He sat in the barbers chair, amidst all the other men, and proceeded to act like a gentlemen. He talked with Dave, the barber, who cut Uncle Danny and Uncle Tegan's hair when they were just boys, saying yes and no to all Dave's questions. He laughed at, and with, the new barber, Joe. I had wanted to take him there in the first place, but I thought the men would not like to hear a screaming baby, so we went to Snip-its instead. Today, I decided to try it. I wanted to surprise his mommy and daddy with the "real" little boys haircut. The one where it is shaved up the back, just like old school style.

Cayden did not cry or even whimper once.
I wasn't disappointed.

Wednesday ...Again
So it's not good news for me! 153.9 pounds on the scale this morning. I have been weighing myself everyday this past week and have been watching the number go up and down. It landed up this morning, go figure. Beth, my pilates instructor, tells me ... "Muscle weighs more... " and I know I have been building muscle. I see it on my body. I like feeling tight and fit, toned. But come on people, give me a break. I want to see the good numbers too! I am putting the scale away until next Wednesday. I have learned my lesson about weighing in everyday. Wish me luck this week!
My grandbaby number 4 is growing big and strong in Mommy's tummy!! 15 weeks along. Doctors appt. today. Possibly an ultrasound since there are some concerns again about brittle bone with Cayden. I wanted Bridget to have a pregnancy where she didn't have to worry about all these concerns again, but it looks like she is on the path again. Good thing she is a strong girl, a mommy who can accept what she cannot change, and can find all the positive in any situation. We are waiting again for results of DNA testing for a couple of things. Cayden has his cast off early to promote bone density, apparently walking on it in the healing stages is good for that, although he will not yet put his foot down. He crawls, he kneels, and he pulls himself up and hold the broken foot up in the air behind him! It's been a week and the dr said it could take up to 2 wks. He instructed them not to push him to use it but just to let him do it in his own time. It is mostly healed but not all the way. Cayden is just about the happiest boy you'd ever see. Smiling all the time, and talking non stop!
I will update when I know more... about Cayden and his little brother or sister!!

Games people play...
I left Dave in Florida. He was having his buddies come down for some golf and good old guy time... good times where they play golf and other fun games!! You saw the games the girls played while we were down there. Games like shopping, sunning, working out together, FARKLE, and movies! Well, just check out the new game the guys are playing this year. This is their idea of a fun time... (Of course, alcohol is involved)
Dave calls him Arnold. He has a complete set of clubs and mini golf balls. The handle has a finger trigger to make little Arnold swing the club!!

Dave had this "game" as a child. He found it at a garage sale way back when. This time he found it at the IX center at the Golf Expo! It comes with a green, sand traps and water hazards! Ha! Instead of playing by the directions of the game, I "bet" they have taped a cup to the sliding doors and are having chipping contests to see who can get the most balls in the cup! For money, no doubt.
Hope Dave comes home a winner!

Xanadu!
Ok, the movie was a little slow. Wow, it's amazing how you could love something from your past but when you revisit it, you find it has lost it's luster!! I watched the movie with Sarah. She liked it. She liked the way Olivia Newton-John wore ribbons in her hair, the way she roller skated, and the fact that she could sing so pretty! I looked up Xanadu on the computer and found the website for the musical and it had testimonials from kids that have seen the play! They loved it, thought it was funny and had a great time! So, it was decided, YES... Sarah would go with me to see Xanadu!
She would wear ribbons in her hair too!
I had made a cd, and of course, we were already belting out the songs here at home. Sarah's favorite: Suddenly. You know... the wheels are in motion and I'm ready to sail any ocean!
She wished she could wear skates, but maybe this summer in the driveway while she listens to the Xanadu music!
It was really so much better than the movie! Keira, the muse, decides to have an Australian accent to hide the fact that she is Zeus' daughter, thus "mocking" Olivia from the film version. It was really quite funny and entertaining.
Our sleepover was fun too! Molly is getting so grown up. She says over and over to me...
"Meme, I am getting bigger, see?" (Translation: I want to go to the theater too sometime!)
I will look for something to take her to see, since she is sure she is so ready!
